Artist Biography: A colorblind 44 year old photographer from California, Roger took up painting when his brother (also a painter) passed away. Picking up a brush, and embracing the act of creating in the same medium as his late brother has helped maintain an important connection. Although the direction Roger’s work has taken is quite different than his late brother’s, they both share a common purpose for creating...to be endlessly curious and translate feelings onto canvas. Roger's paintings are not unlike the songs he writes, or the clay he throws on a pottery wheel in his studio, or the photos he takes. Whatever the medium, all is made with the whole heart guided by a conviction that beautiful things don't ask for attention and that simplicity, is not for the simple.
